Australia

How Do I sign Up for the Program?

If you are having issues booking, please refer to “How To Sign Up For Holiday Program” at the top of this page.

WHere Can I park?

We recommend parking in the multi-level car park.

Here, you can park for free for the first hour.

If you park next to the air bridge and walk across, we will be set up near the champion’s room.

We will send further communications if our drop-off and pick-up locations are different.

Sign in and out procedures

All children must be signed in and out of the Holiday Program during the allocated times by a parent or guardian aged 18 years or older. This is a requirement for the State Sport Centres Trust (SSCT) Child Protection Policy.

Sign-in and Sign-out are located at the Holiday Program home base between the hours of 7:45am-8:45am and 4:30pm-5:45pm.

If plans change or something happens where an alternative person needs to collect a child, please email childrensp@ssct.com.au with the alternative arrangement details. If you are running late for collection, we advise you call the Holiday Program Operational Supervisor on 9926 1605 or the main business number 9926 1555 to notify the staff of your whereabouts.

What Should I bring?

Label all items – we get a lot of lost property every day; with names, we will always return your items.

  • Bathers, towel, and goggles
  • Athletic Clothes
  • Athletic close-toed shoes
  • Morning tea, lunch & afternoon tea
  • Water bottle

Nut Awareness

The MSAC Holiday Program is a ‘nut awareness’ program and requires parents to be mindful of this when packing lunch and snacks, as children with anaphylactic allergies are enrolled in many of our programs. We do not allow the sharing of food even between siblings.

What to leave at home?

Leave valuables and electronics at home. Please refrain your child from bringing any valuables or toys from home, including, but not limited to, money, mobile phones, portable computer games, and sports equipment.

Can My Child attend if they are a weak swimmer?

Absolutely, they can! We will provide lifejackets where the child struggles with swimming in deep water.

Each day before we participate in the Aquatic Activities, the program staff conduct a swim test for all children. Those who are not comfortable in deep water or those who do not pass this test will be instructed to wear a lifejacket.

We also supervise at a 1 staff to 10 children ratio throughout the entire program.

It’s My child’s First time at MSAC! What will they do?

We would love to host your little one for the first time. Whether they are coming alone or coming with friends, our Program Officers try our best to provide a safe and enjoyable space for all.

Please refer to the schedule above to see all of the fun activities the children will be doing throughout the day.

Each day will be different from the last. In the morning, the children will be participating in various games and sports. In the morning, in the afternoon, and in the evening, the children will have fun in the pools with such activities as pool inflatables, dive boards, and wavepools. Schedules are subject to change based on booking availability.

Will my Children be in the same groups together? HOw we split groups.

The groups are split by the age of the children on the day. This helps with groups interacting in developmental and age-appropriate activities. These groups help us with ensuring the safety and entertainment of the children during our programs.

Staff supervise the children, one staff member to ten children ratio. The groups are split evenly based on our staffing numbers and the ages of all children in the program on that given day.

My child is sick. What should I do?

In the event of illness, each Child is entitled to a Program credit.

To qualify for a credit, SSC Children’s Programs must be notified by email;, childrensp@ssct.com.au or phone 9926 1555 at least one (1) hour prior to your scheduled booking. Credit is only offered in cases relating to injury or illness/medical conditions and booking errors, which are subject to approval.

Failure to notify the SSC Children’s Programs by email before your scheduled booking will result in bookings and possible credits being forfeited.

For ongoing illness or injury that results in more than two (2) missed bookings, a cancellation of bookings is suggested – refer to the Cancellation of bookings above. You should also consult with MSC Children’s Programs about the best course of action for your circumstances.

Child Safety and Wellbeing

SSCT is committed to child safety and protection. SSCT offers a family environment that provides programs and services designed to:

  • Ensure individuals enjoy their experience
  • Cater for individuals at their own ability levels
  • Assist participants to develop and achieve optimal levels of performance
  • Increase accessibility for multi-cultural, including aboriginal, and multi-linguistic participation
  • Ensure the safety of every participant

For more information on our Child Protection Policy please visit our website here

Staffing

We are lucky to have a large team of staff that can cater for more kids than a usual holiday program but we still have to meet, and preferably exceed, the minimum staff to child ratios in our programs on a daily basis. Particularly at MSAC, just moving from our stadium sports halls to aquatics and back again, the staff to child ratios alter dramatically and we like to always be exceeding the minimum standard to ensure safety is our highest priority.

  • Stadium Sports Hall Activities – 1 staff member: 10 children
  • Aquatic Activities – 1 staff member: 10 children
  • Excursions or off-site activities – 1 staff member: 6 children

Child Care Benefit

From 2 July 2018, Child Care Subsidy will replace Child Care Benefit. From this date, fee assistance for registered care programs such as SSC Holiday Program will no longer be available.

How to get in contact on the day

  • During Holiday program hours, Programs Supervisor Phone: 9926 1605
  • Outside Holiday program hours, the Customer Service Team phone: 9926 1555
