School Carnival and venue hire

The swimming pool available for school carnivals at Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC) include:

• 50 metre / 25 metre 10 lane Indoor Competition Pool 
• 50 metre / 25 metre 10 lane Outdoor Competition Pool 
• Diving Pool with Dive Boards

Catering and Electronic Timing with Touch pads are available on request.

Peak Times: There are two peak seasons within the aquatic facilities:

• November to March (Term 4 to the end of Term 1)
• May to September – indoor facilities only (Late Term 2 to end of Term 3)

Always have a plan B and C for the date: All applications will require at least three date preferences which we will consider and always try to meet first preferences where possible.

MSAC is host to a number of State and National events. These do take precedence in the annual planning of MSC’s Aquatic spaces.

Course Modes: Long course season is October to April and short course season (indoor facilities only) is May to September.

Standard Setups: Standard pool set up is 50m at 2.1m depth, however upon request (and additional charge) the pool can be changed to 25m and the pool floor can be raised.

Timings: MSAC can accommodate a half day, full day or twilight meet.

The athletics facilities available for school carnivals at Lakeside Stadium include:

• 400 metre 10 lane FIA athletics track 
• Throws Field of Play
• Warm Up area with additional track and throws Field of Play
• Catering and Electronic Timing are available on request
• Equipment (such as hurdles, throws equipment) available on hire on request

There are two peak seasons for Athletics Carnivals

• Late March to Early June (late in Term 1 to the end of Term 2)
• September to November (late Term 3 to mid-Term 4)

Lakeside Stadiums also hosts a range of soccer matches which may impact the accessibility of certain areas of the venue (pitch). This is predominately on weekends between April and September, but may involve the occasional weekday.
