Preschool Learn to Swim

Entry level class for all pre-school aged children. The class is designed to introduce children to swimming classes in a safe, fun and supportive environment. This is the first level where your child participates without a parent or guardian in the lesson.

• Student age: 3 years old transitioning from infant classes or 4 years old with no previous experience in the aquatic environment
• Class duration: 30 minutes
• Class size: Up to 4 students
• Class location: Indoor Multi-purpose Pool

While enrolled in our Preschool Bronze class children will work towards achieving the following skills:

• Demonstrate safe entry and exit
• Submerge face voluntarily
• Floating on back with assistance
• 5 metres kicking on their front and back (with propulsion) using a noodle and with minimal teacher assistance

The class is designed to teach children to follow direction, swim unaided and promote water confidence.

• Student age: From 3 years up until students commence full time school
• Class duration: 30 minutes
• Class size: Up to 4 students
• Class location: Indoor Multipurpose Pool

While enrolled in our Preschool Silver class children will work towards achieving the following skills:

• Demonstrate safe entry and exit
• Submerge face voluntarily
• Floating on back and front with aid
• Float and glide on front with assistance
• Introduction to freestyle arms
• Ability to jump into deep water
• 5 metres kicking on their front and back (with propulsion) using a board and with minimal teacher assistance

This level continues to build water confidence and aims to assist children in achieving correct body position to enable them to develop greater strength and independence.

• Student age: From 3 years up until students commence full time school
• Class duration: 30 minutes
• Class size: Up to four students
• Class location: Indoor Leisure Pool

While enrolled in our Preschool Gold class children will work towards achieving the following skills:

• Demonstrate safe entry and exit
• Submerge head underwater and recover an object in shallow water
• Floating on back and front without aid
• Push and glide on front and back
• Introduction to freestyle arms
• Introduction to lateral breathing during freestyle arms
• Ability to jump into deep water towards a teacher and swim back to the edge of the pool
• 5 metres kicking on their front and back (with propulsion) independently and basic freestyle and backstroke techniques
