Overview

State Sport Centres is a collection of state-of-the-art sporting and recreational facilities including Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre (MSAC), Lakeside Stadium and the State Netball and Hockey Centre (SNHC).

Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre (MSAC)

Featuring world-class facilities and amenities, State Sport Centres is home to some of Australia’s most celebrated sporting venues. With one of the largest multi-sports and event facilities in the country, our venues have the capacity to host a diverse and exciting range of sporting events to provide you an exceptional experience.

MSAC offers an incomparable range of event spaces for any occasion, from sporting and social events for all ages, to a variety of corporate options to suit your business needs. Our state-of-the-art facilities are designed to impress and inspire, ensuring your event is beyond the best.

Event Spaces & Capacities

Our event spaces are nothing short of spectacular. We have our show courts and stadiums, an open-air aquatic arena and grandstand. We also have the magnificent Champions Room which overlooks iconic Albert Park as well as various halls, rooms, and outdoor spaces that are completely versatile to suit the needs of you event .

The state-of-the-art outdoor competition pool can even play host to events, being the world’s first 50-metre pool with an elevated floor. The outdoor pool also has a 3000-capacity grandstand, making it ideal for large-scale corporate and social events such as product launches, banquets and cocktail parties.

Public Transport

There are two convenient tram routes which drop you right at our front door.

Route 96 (East Brunswick to St Kilda Beach) – Stop 129 Route 12 (City to South Melbourne/St Kilda) – Stop 131

Getting There By Bike

There is ample bicycle parking in the middle of the roundabout right outside the main entrance of MSAC. There are also bikes racks near the aquatic’s entry.

Getting There By Car

MSAC has two car parks, Multi-Deck car park and Stadiums car park, with a total of 459 spaces for members and visitor use. Both car parks provide the
first hour free of charge, then standard rates apply.

Parking is subject to availability.

Lakeside Stadium

Lakeside Stadium is located at the northern end of iconic Albert Park Lake and plays host to a variety of sporting and social functions and events that also take advantage of the picturesque setting. Along with its international standard athletic facilities and FIFA sized soccer pitch, there are many function rooms available to hire to suit your event’s needs.

With stunning city views and glimpses of Albert Park Lake alongside our state-of-the-art facilities, this venue is designed to impress and inspire, ensuring your event is beyond the best.

Event Spaces & Capacities

Lakeside Stadium has a variety of function spaces, including the stadium itself which has seating for up to 7,400 spectators across the two main stands.

The primary function space, Albert by the Lake, can host up to 300 guests for many different styles of events. The room can easily be opened up onto an expansive balcony where you and your guests can take in the stunning views of the stadium, and of Melbourne’s signature city skyline. The Presidents Room is another flexible function space that is on offer and also overlooks the stadium and provides those fantastic city views. With an abundance of natural light, this space is ideal for smaller scale events.

Lakeside Stadium is perfect for all occasions. Corporate lunches or dinners, cocktail parties, Christmas events, conferences, awards nights and weddings, this venue really can do it all and in a way that works best for your event.

STATE NETBALL AND HOCKEY CENTRE (SNHC), PARKVILLE

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Royal Park, Parkville is a short 3km journey North of the bustling CBD! With easy access to public transport and an abundance of free parking, SNHC is the perfect spot for your next function.

With a stunning view of our hockey pitch and glimpses of Melbourne’s glistening CBD, our friendly staff will make the best event possible for you.

Event Spaces & Capacities

Prepare to be dazzled by not one, but two magnificent event spaces! The Anne Henderson room, with its sweeping vistas overlooking our main arena, is ready to welcome up to 260 guests. Meanwhile, the Olympians room offers a breathtaking panorama of our Hockey pitches against the backdrop of the city skyline, providing a mesmerizing setting for up to 190 guests.

The State Netball and Hockey Centre offers a plethora of unique function spaces, each offering its own charm and allure to suit any need.

Our staff have a wealth of experience when it comes to curating culinary creations that cater to every palate, style, and budget, promising a feast that will leave you and your guests raving.
