MSAC revving up for a facility refresh
As we approach another Autumn in Melbourne and the hum of Formula 1 cars start to surround Albert Park, the facilities team at MSAC are hard at work revving their surfacing machines and high pressure cleaners for a well deserved refresh!
As we approach another Autumn in Melbourne and the hum of Formula 1 cars start to surround Albert Park, the facilities team at MSAC are hard at work revving their surfacing machines and high pressure cleaners for a well deserved refresh!
From March 10 – 18, MSAC will be undergoing works in many areas. Our team use this quieter period in venue to upgrade, repair and restore our most used facilities.
In 2025, we’ll be taking on over 170 projects inside, including:
- Resurfacing of sports floors through Basketball, Badminton and Table Tennis areas, providing longevity and high quality playing surfaces for all patrons.
- Replacement of the Wave Pool and 25m Lap Pool Filters, ensuring filtration is of the highest quality for the next 30 years. (These filters are only replaced every 30 years!)
- Recoating and repairing all other pool filters, replacing filtration media, ensuring pools are sparkling clean for your next swim
- Sauna and Steam room repairs and upgrades to heaters so your next sweat sesh is the most comfortable ever
- Annual maintenance on Hydrotherapy and Spa jets and pumps
- Repairing and replacing shower heads and taps across the venue
- Painting and restoring of details throughout MSAC, including updating imagery around our venue
- Annual Fire Testing of all infrastructure
- Maintenance, repairs and painting of all change rooms and amenities
- Replacement of the MSAC Main entry auto doors, after a solid 30 years of operation
- Replacement of vinyl and stair nosing through Indoor Competition ensuring the safest product underfoot
- And of course, deep cleans of the venue ready for another 12 months of incredible sporting activity!
We ask that you are patient with our team while these works are happening. There may be some noise disruptions while works are happening, and we will do our best to minimise this for patron comfort.
There may be small changes to lap lane availability and group fitness classes, so please check ahead before your visit to avoid any disappointment.
