It’s a new season and you’re new to the club, what are you most looking forward to?

I’m super excited to be part of the group this year, it’s such an incredible club, and obviously them winning the championship last year. You know, I’ve got really great friends in this team, so such a great group of girls, really professional club. And we’re really trying to just focus on development, but also we want to win a championship this year. And playing for Kristi [Harrower] is really exciting for me as well.

You’ve played overseas and at an international level for the country, how can you bring that experience to the team?

I’ll definitely be using my experience and being super fortunate to win championships and play overseas, but I just want to bring my leadership and my experience and just make this just the best year possible for everyone involved and hopefully at the end of the day, win that championship, the ultimate goal.

You’ve played all around the world, but what makes Melbourne crowds so special?

Oh, Melbourne is amazing. I’m a Melbourne girl, so after eight years to be back here in Melbourne is really special. And to play in front of your family and your friends and your home crowd is just amazing. And and every time I played [against] Southside, it’s such an amazing crowd. So we want to pack out the stadium every single week, and we just want to show our fans a great brand of basketball and play, you know, the right way every single day.

You train with the Flyers at the State Basketball Centre, how have the facilities here helped you be at your best?

The facilities are amazing, and that’s kind of another reason why I really wanted to come home to play, just to use those amazing facilities. We’ve got the ice baths, we’ve got the courts. There’s just so many different things, the gym that we can use. So we’re super lucky and super fortunate to have such amazing facilities. So feeling very grateful for that.

Tickets are on sale for all Southside Flyers home games at the State Baskeball Centre here.
