Grand Prix period: Changes to access, parking and programs
Here’s what will change during the Grand Prix race period, starting 23 February.
The Formula One Australian Grand Prix is fast approaching, and this year’s event will bring a longer period of impact than previously due to recent changes to the Australian Grands Prix Act 1994. The 2026 Grand Prix will be run on Sunday 8 March, meaning race week is 2-9 March this year.
New legislation introduced in October 2025 now sees the event period extended to 21 days, giving the Australian Grand Prix Corporation control of the MSAC precinct (Albert Park Lake/eastern side) from 23 February to 16 March 2026.
Week 1
23 Feb – 1 Mar
Week 2
2 Mar – 9 Mar
