Free pads and tampons available at State Netball and Hockey Centre
Minister for Women Natalie Hutchins joined Sharni Layton at SNHC, to launch three vending machines providing period products.
Victorians can now access free pads and tampons at Victorian sporting venues, with the State Netball and Hockey Centre (SNHC) one of the latest additions, thanks to the Victorian Government’s nation-leading program.
Minister for Women Natalie Hutchins joined Sharni Layton at SNHC to launch the expansion of the project. Three vending machines providing period products are now installed in the centre.
“We’re delivering free pads and tampons in public places right across Victoria, and now we’re making it a reality at some of our most iconic venues,” said Hutchins.
More than 500,000 people visit SNHC each year, and more than 80% of visitors are women and girls.
“State Sport Centres Trust strives to enable participation in sport for all Victorians – from grassroots to elite-level competitions. We’re proud to be part of this free program to continue providing opportunities for the women and girls who use our venues,” said State Sport Centres CEO Kate Roffey.
Machines are located below:
Machine 1: Main reception area, opposite water dispenser
Machine 2: Level 1 – opposite Netball Museum
Machine 3: Ground Floor, opposite Stadium B and Changing Room E
